April 2006 - MGIA Happenings!
There were approximately 70 new
registrations of cattle with the CLRC during the first quarter of
2006, so we are well ahead of the 2005 figures. Most of our breeders
register their calves in the fall of each year, so we are anticipating a
steady growth of the number of our registered murrays.

membership fee will be unchanged from 2005 amounts---what a bargain! Only
$10.00 Canadian dollars
for a registration! Our members are reminded that the "Forms" link on this
site will take you to printable forms for registrations and also for the fee
schedule,
which is designated as Canadian dollars on the CLRC site. The exchange
rate for US/Canadian dollars may vary from week to week, but generally
a $10.00 Canadian dollar price is approximately $7.00 to $8.00 US dollars.

October 2005 -Auction Success!
The Fall 2005 internet auction was a big
success! We hope that even more of our members will participate next year.
The top price for open heifers was $3010. and bred heifers was $2857.
A full report card will be included in the 2005 annual report to all
members.
Plans are being made for the 2006 Breeder Directory/Herdbook. ADVERTISE YOUR

Auction: It is a "GO"! Cattle will be listed for auction beginning October 13, 2005. Will close in the evening of October 18, 2005. We hope to have both registered and commercial stock listed from many parts of the country; and Murray crosses also! Semen and embryos will also be auctioned.
June 2005 -Auction Notice!
Notice to All MGIA Members: If you are willing to participate in the fall internet auction by placing some of your animals for sale, notify Terry Anderson or Carole Brown NOT LATER THAN JULY 15TH. New software must be obtained and set up; the cost in time and money will not be justified unless quite a few farms/ranches are involved. This was a successful venture last year and should attract even more buyers this coming fall. Advertising is planned and must be placed soon.
